On a stormy October afternoon, over 100 people crowded into the largest hall at the University of Maine School of Law to learn more about the prospects of the International Criminal Court.

Selected students from Hampden Academy, USM and the Law School opened the questioning of panelists John Washburn, Convenor of the American NGOs Coalition for the ICC, Nicholas Rostow, General Counsel to the US Mission to the United Nations (presenting the US government position), and Jane Rocamora, VP of the International Criminal Defense Attorneys Association. The moderator was former Assistant Secretary of State John Shattuck.
 
 Mr Washburn (far left) led a workshop on ICC legal details; Ms Rocamora gave another workshop the benefit of her experience with the ad hoc tribunals for Rwanda & Former Yugoslavia; Mr Rostow participated in a workshop on the ICC & Peacemaking led by Colby Professor Ken Rodman.
